Hello loves, been a while but am happy to have this blog up on protective hairstyles.
First, protective style term is used mostly by women with natural hair or pretty much every woman. It is hairstyles that help protect your hair, mostly it’s ends by helping reduce tangling, breakage and shedding that results from excessive heat damage, chemical damage or just excessive shampooing.
There are different reasons why people do protective hairstyles, some to save time getting ready in the morning, some to protect and give damage hair a break, some do it because they just like to change their look up from time to time. Examples of protective hairstyles are crochet braids, regular braids, twist braids, weaves or extensions, wigs and do on.
I personally love crochet braids because it takes less time, relatively easy to do, easy to maintain, braids hair can be affordable, and most importantly easy to take out.
While I love my natural tapered haircut, I sometimes get bored and want to change it up.
I decided to change my look up a bit by wearing a different hairdo. I picked a crochet braid using single twist hair from FreeTress hair in length 10′.
Crochet braids, also known as latch hook braids, are styles for braiding hair that involve crocheting synthetic hair extensions to a person’s natural hair with a latch hook or crochet hook.
To make the colors pop, I used three colors; 27 (blonde), 1B (Black) and OT27 (Ombre black and blonde)
Love how the hairstyle has variety of ways to style it.
The crochet braids are also fun to accessories with beads and fashion braid rings. These makes the look pop and stylish.
