Spring Break 2018 – Mexico

All work and no play, they say make Jack (or Jill) a dull boy (or girl). We often go non-stop for days, weeks and months trying to maintain a living and secure our future with barely taking a break or a breather to relax and enjoy in between. Prior to spring break my days, weeks and months were so jam packed with work deliverables, kids school and after school activities, kids sports, new business, and blogging, that it felt so overwhelming and a lot to handle. Spring break was a perfect time to unwind and enjoy and this time we stuck with one of our favorite places to visit, Mexico, one of our Happy places!

My family and I, have visited Mexico for quite sometimes now. Sometimes it’s just a resort getaway for hubby and I, other times it’s been with the kids or with my sisters and their husbands. All these times, we have had wonderful experiences at different resorts. We have been to resorts like Riviera Maya: Paradisus La Esmeralda in Cancun , Krystal Grand in Cabo, Ventus At Marina El Cid in Cancun. Spring break 2018 was with the kids to Ventus At Marina El Cid in Cancun Riviera Maya. A new resort that opened around November of 2017, we enjoyed every bit of our 6 days stay there. The resort is two resorts in one, an existing one and a newly renovated one. The food was amazing and service was one of the best we’ve had. There were multiple pools, dinning/restaurant areas, bars. Our butler Irvine was superb.

A visit to paradise for a beauty blogger means time for makeup and beautiful pictures with stunning sceneries. I did not pass away that opportunity.

I went for a smoky look in this shoot. I wanted the look to be dark and vampy while the outfit stay bright. I did a smoky eye with Juvia’s Place palettes and Morphe 3502 palette. My lashes are Coco style from Nubian Beauty, my line of eyelashes.

My dress is from Venus. Bell/flare hands and knee length, this dress brought the drama and attention. I must say we made quite some friends because people noticed us taking pictures and asked if I was a blogger.

The resort has endless spot and scenery for pictures.

My shoes are from Aldo Shoes.

Taking a break, getting some sun and margaritas.

I love this look, makeup, outfit and the different sceneries/backgrounds.

Blending in with my background. The resort has several spot to relax and stay close to the beach listening to the sound of the waves.

My lipstick is Clapback by Fenty Beauty. It is one of the matte Mattemoiselle lipstick collection by Rihanna. I love this collection because they glide on smoothly, they are creamy and matte at the same time with none of that dryness that some other matte lipstick have.

Oh, not to forget , they make good margaritas, not watered down at El Cid. The drinks were good all together.

Below is a short clip I did on instagram showing some of the pictures from this look with music by Runtown & Illbliss titled Alhaji Can’t Hear You.
